Pastor Robert D. Macina
Pastor Robert D. Macina was ordained into the Holy Ministry in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod on Pentecost Day in 1996. He has served as a pastor in Colorado, including at Risen Christ Lutheran Church since October 2018.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Concordia Teachers College (now Concordia University) Seward, Nebraska in 1991, he attended Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pastor Macina completed the Master of Divinity with a major in New Testament and a minor in Systematic Theology in 1995. He also earned a Master of Sacred Theology degree in Exegetical Theology in 2009 from Concordia Theological Seminary. In 2014, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Old Testament from University of Divinity, through Australian Lutheran College, in Adelaide, South Australia. In addition, he attended Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado, Clarendon College in Clarendon, Texas, and Concordia College (now Concordia University Texas) in Austin, Texas.
Pastor Macina has written articles for theological journals, guest lectured at seminaries, and is the author of The LORD’s Service: A Ritual Analysis of the Order, Function, and Purpose of the Daily Divine Service in the Pentateuch (Pickwick Publications, 2019).
Prior to studying for the Holy Ministry, Pastor Macina lived on his family ranch in the Texas Panhandle near Shamrock from the time of his birth on June 14, 1967. He attended Lela Elementary and then Shamrock High School where he graduated in 1985. June 6, 1986 he married Tracy D’Ann Thomas who was a fellow graduate with him from the same high school. Pastor and Tracy have three children: Mark and Daniel who are twins born in 1998, and Rebekah who was born in 2005.
Pastor Macina enjoys activities including hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time outdoors. He is interested in personal finance, especially researching mutual funds and investments. He has working experience in crop farming, beef cattle ranching, and in automotive painting. He has worked in the oilfield both as a roustabout and as a route pumper for oil and gas wells. He greatly values being with his wife, children, extended family, friends, and members of our church family. Above all, Pastor Macina is honored to serve as an under-shepherd of Jesus Christ with the privilege of preaching and teaching God’s Word and administering the Sacraments of Holy Baptism, Holy Absolution, and Holy Communion for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life of God’s saints and the conversion of people unto salvation in Christ.
